![]() ![]() ![]() We gave Parallels Desktop 16.5 a thorough test drive and found it to be impressively fast. Earlier this month, Parallels released Parallels Desktop 16.5, offering native virtualization for both M1 and Intel-based Macs. The biggest issue is the Parallels can not emulate the actual hardware of the Raspberry Pi SBC, and considering it was first and foremost developed to run Windows on ARM likely it is skewed towards Qualcomm ARM SoC. UTM, for example, is a low-cost way to run Windows and Linux on Apple Silicon. The OP could install the LXDE Desktop Environment in Debian ARM64 but that would only give a similar look and feel, quite likely Raspberry Pi Desktop Desktop Environment could be "compiled" to run on Debian ARM64 OS. The OP is clearly aware that he can run Debian ARM64 Operating System, but he wanted to run Raspberry Pi ARM64 Operating System so that he can develop in the VM and then use real RPi Hardware. Surely the OP is not wanting to run x86 RaspiOS ! Parallels has a ARM Debian, but how can I get the Ras desktop etc? I can't find an M1 version of Raspberry Pi OS to install in Parallels. No, the OP wanted to run Raspberry Pi Desktop for PC and Mac. ![]() The OP wanted to run Raspberry Pi (Raspbian Buster ARMF) Operating System Mac with Apple M1 SoC only ARM64 versions of guest operating systems are supported AFAIAA ![]()
